Peter Nixon (Lytham St. Annes, 1956)
Peter Nixon is an artist whose professional career spans nearly thirty years. His work, whilst modern in outlook, is heavily informed by drawing and painting skills continuing a traditional approach to art established by the Masters. His core inspiration is the human figure; its beauty and complexity the ultimate challenge for a draughtsman. This tactile approach is allied to various themes; memory, wonder, heightened emotion and the act of painting itself to generate contemporary themes that portray human experience at its most vivid. He works from the studio in his home in London where he lives with his wife and two of his three children. For the past five years he has been represented by Parkwest Gallery in Michigan USA.
